Congratulations to the 2018 EPA Young Referees of the Year!

Lydia Ewing. Lydia has successfully made the transition from player to an official in a short period of time.  A freshman goalkeeper at Messiah College, Lydia started 20 games, allowing just four goals, for a Falcons team that reached the final eight of the NCAA DIII Women’s Soccer Tournament.  She’s also made strides as a referee, working state events including the Easter Pennsylvania Youth Soccer State Cup, part of the National Championship Series.

Joseph Franks. A referee for five years, Joseph has quickly risen to become one of the more respected officials in the region.  He has refereed state and regional events, including for ODP, the Presidents Cup, and the National Championship Series.  Joseph is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics at Temple University with the hopes of becoming a teacher.  Joseph was also named the 2017 Youth Soccer East Region Young Male Referee of the Year.
